A classic and well-known snare drum, the Ludwig Acrolite Snare Drum has been a bright and crispy aluminum-shelled favorite for years! Originally introduced in 1963 as a student drum, the Ludwig Acrolite quickly became the choice of pro players in need of dry, cracking snare tone.

Once perceived as a student-level snare drum, the sound of the Ludwig Acrolite Snare has become an essential snare in the collections of most professional drummers and is also found in many recording studios as a favored “house snare”. It has become an artist favorite for its bright, dry response, its lively projection and articulate play.

To celebrate the reintroduction of the Acrolite in its original splendor; Ludwig introduces the LM404LTD Acrolite Limited. Its seamless, beaded, brushed-aluminum shell produces penetrating, dry snare tone, and is augmented with matching brushed Classic dual snare lugs, P85 strainer, and 2.3mm hoops. Made in Monroe, NC. USA and featuring the iconic Ludwig Blue/Olive Badge. Limited to 2012/2013 production.
